Sorpresa Network launched Jan. 1 on Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico, pushing the children’s network aimed at Spanish speakers beyond the 1-million-subscriber mark, it said.
The launch on the Liberty Global-owned cable operator added 90,000 subscribers, the Jupiter Content-owned channel said. "As a result, we enter 2008 having surpassed our initial subscriber milestone, advancing our efforts to win the attention of large, national advertisers and their agencies to better access Hispanic advertising spending that continues to outpace the general media marketplace," Sorpresa CEO Stuart Rekant said in a release.
Other Sorpresa affiliates include Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Time Warner and Verizon FiOS.
