Writers Guild Makes Agreement with Spyglass Entertainment

Firm Behind The Sixth Sense, 27 Dresses Gets Deal

By Linda Haugsted -- Multichannel News, 1/16/2008 7:43:00 AM

The Writers Guild of America has negotiated a contract agreement with another independent producer, this time with the entertainment company which has produced The Sixth Sense and, currently, 27 Dresses.
The deal was struck with Spyglass Entertainment, founded by industry veterans Roger Birnbaum and Gary Barber. The parties said the agreement is similar to the pacts forged with

and United Artists and address compensation for new media.
"Spyglass Entertainment can now work with the most talented writers in the business -- members of the Writers Guild," said WGA presidents Patric Verrone and Michael Winship in a joint statement.
