By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 1/31/2008 8:26:00 PM MT

Outdoor Channel has lined up some key advisors.

The Temecula, Calif.-headquartered network has established its 2008 Hunting Advisory Council, comprising a cross-section of thought leaders from such organizations as National Shooting Sports Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Safari Club International, Midway USA, Pradco Outdoor Brands, Remington Arms Co. and Thompson Center.

Outdoor executives said the council, which met for the first time just before the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show and Conference, which will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Feb. 2 through Feb. 5, will collaborate over the year on key issues facing the hunting community and outdoor industry as large.

"For our industry to continue to thrive, we need to seize opportunities together and address challenges together,” said COO Outdoor Channel Tom Hornish in a statement. “Our mission is to create a shared vision with these leaders, who, because of their unique skill sets, passion about the subject and proven commitment, are certain to guide our network on strategies that resonate with our viewers, advertisers, producers and employees.”
