Dig slam dunks? Fans this year will have a say in who is named the NBA’s best jammer during the pro hoops league’s All-Star Weekend festivities.
As part of TNT’s NBA All-Star Saturday Night Presented by State Farm, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m., fans for the first time will help determine this year’s Sprite Slam Dunk king by casting their votes via SMS text messages or at NBA.com, following the competition’s concluding round. The dunker with the most fan votes rules. A panel of judges will continue to play a key role by selecting the two participants advancing to the final round.
Each of this year’s competitors, Memphis Grizzlies’ Rudy Gay, the Toronto Raptors’ Jamario Moon, the Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard and the defending champion, Gerald Green of the Minnesota Timberwolves, have placed some of their slams on YouTube and NBA.com
The league’s Web site is also home to top All-Star plays over the past three decades and highlights from the dunk contest.

This year is even kicking it up a notch, with Slam Dunk contestants posting on YouTube BEFORE the big day, to give fans an itchy teaser. Dwight Howard's actually does feed right into that anticipation tank -- he's doing some crazy stunts in practice, so the big day must be insane.
