Sportsvision, the company that has brought the ubiquitous 1st and 10 line and KZone to TV sets around the nation, will tip off its latest innovation on TNT’s coverage of the NBA All-Star Game tonight from New Orleans.
The Chicago-based company, which this past pro football season introduced FreezeCam, a system that freezes a replay then allows for zooming in, out or around the frame, will unveil its “backboard slideout” graphic during the pro hoops event.
The new effect, which goes to a wide-angle look, inserts relevant video and graphics into a virtual screen that slides sideways out of the backboard during free throws. As such, TNT producers will be able to tap any camera or video source and integrate replays of the infraction, game data, player bios and stats, or even close-ups of the shooter’s eye as he’s attempting the foul shot.
Following NBA Tip-Off Presented by AutoTrader.com at 8 p.m., TNT will televise the All-Star Game at 8:30 p.m.
