Ghost Hunters International Conjures Solid First Season
Spin-off Of Popular Sci-Fi Series Averages 2.1 Million Viewers

Ghost Hunters International closed its first season with a better than 2 million viewership average for Sci Fi Channel.
The spin-off of the network’s popular Ghost Hunters skein averaged a 1.6 household rating and 2.1 million viewers for the premiere of its seven installments. The solid performance came despite a 1.3 mark for the finale on Feb. 20, when Sci Fi counted 1.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
Over the course of its debut runs in the 9 p.m. hour, Ghost Hunters International, network officials said, was the top entertainment cable show in the time slot among adults 18 to 49 and 25 to 54, as well as women 18 to 49 and 25 to 54.
Network officials said that over its seven-week run, the series powered triple-digit gains over the corresponding period in 2007, among adults 18 to 49 (up 300%) and 25 to 54 (222%).
The international version of the show features real-life “ghost-busters,” ordinary people who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity, traveling to different European cities.
Its progenitor returns for its fourth season on March 5 at 9 p.m., with lead investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson on the case at the allegedly haunted Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia.
