It didn’t take Cris Carter long to find work.
The former All-Pro wide receiver has joined ESPN as an NFL studio analyst and will appear on NFL Live, SportsCenter and ESPNEWS, among other outlets.
Carter had been a member of HBO’s Inside The NFL cast before the premium network punted on the analysis/highlights show after Super Bowl XLII, ending a 31-year run.
His duties will also extend to ESPN Radio and he will participate in ESPN The Weekend, from Feb. 29 through March 2, at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
Officially beginning April 1, Carter will also serve as part of the sports giant’s 2008 NFL Draft coverage.
“Cris is a Hall of Fame caliber player and a tremendous analyst, and we are thrilled to welcome him to ESPN where he will give fans a true insider’s perspective on the NFL year-round across our various platforms,” said Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president, production, in a statement.
Carter’s arrival came at the same time ESPN drop-kicked NFL analyst Sean Salisbury, who often clashed on-air with fellow football analyst John Clayton, off its roster
“Sean Salisbury has made many contributions to our efforts for the past 12 years,” ESPN said in a statement. “We thank him and wish him all the best.”
