Cox Bundles McAfee Security Products With Internet Access
Software Suite Includes Parental Controls

Cox Communications’ 3.7 million Internet customers now have access to web-based security products, provided free by the Internet provider.
The Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee is available via download at the “Internet Tools" tab at www.cox.net. Cox has long offer security tools to consumers, but the products launched beginning last week are the result of a long-term deal with McAfee announced by the companies in the third quarter of last year.
The new suite includes McAfee VirusScan; PrivacyService and Site Advisor. New functions in this suite, according to Cox, includes improved parental controls such as Internet time limits, keyword filters and objectionable image controls. Identification protection has also been improved.
If purchased, consumers would pay $69 for this suite of services, according to Cox.
