Comcast Counts 7 Billion VOD Views Since Platform Launched In 2003

Comcast Corp. reports that its viewers have now racked up 7 billion video-on-demand views since the company began launching the platform in 2003.
That number of views translates to 1 billion hours viewed over the last five years.
The industry's foremost proponent of the platform, Comcast has expanded its VOD library to some 10,000 titles per month, with DVR-like controls.
Company officials said subscribers check out VOD programming more than 275 million times per month, at a rate of 100 times a second across Comcast's deployed universe. They watch 130 million hours of content per month.
“The numbers speak for themselves. Each month our customers watch roughly 40 million movies on demand,” said Derek Harrar, senior vice president and general manager of video services for Comcast, in a statement
