Scripps Networks has signed a distribution deal with online video start-up TidalTV that will serve up programming from HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living Network.
TidalTV, planning to launch next month, is aiming to replicate cable’s programming model with an online video guide and programmed “faux linear” channels.
Scripps shows to be available on TidalTV will include HGTV’s House Hunters and Designed to Sell, DIY's Sweat Equity and Fine Living's The Perfect Party.
Baltimore-based TidalTV has not named other content providers for its service but claimed it will have 15 media partners when it launches.
The 23-person startup recently closed $15 million in first-round funding led by New Enterprise Associates and Valhalla Partners.
