CNN To Air Live Presidential Candidates Forum On Faith Issues
‘Compassion Forum’ Scheduled Nine Days Ahead Of Crucial Democratic Primary

CNN will serve as the exclusive broadcaster of a presidential-candidate forum on faith, values and other current issues at Messiah College near Harrisburg, Pa., April 13 at 8 p.m., officials said Monday.
CNN Election Center anchor Campbell Brownand Newsweek editor and Newsweek.com election anchor Jon Meacham will moderate what is being billed as The Compassion Forum, which will take place nine days before the Pennsylvania primary.
Organized and sponsored by Faith in Public Life, the 90-minute forum will consist of wide-ranging and probing discussions of policies related to moral issues.
It will feature Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on the same stage to talk about these topics as each candidate sits down individually with the moderators. Sen. John McCain was also invited by Faith in Public Life to participate in the bi-partisan forum, but only Clinton and Obama have confirmed.
Leading up to The Compassion Forum, chief national correspondent John Kingwill anchor live special coverage beginning at 10 p.m. April 12, and then again April 13, immediately following the forum.
Special coverage on Sunday will feature analysis from commentators across the faith and ideological spectrum. King will be stationed at CNN’s Pennsylvania “mini-bureau,” the CNN Election Express bus, which has allowed the network to maintain a full-time presence in these weeks leading up to the April 22 primary.
“Ballot Bowl” will also originate live from Pennsylvania and air throughout the weekend, bringing the candidates’ significant events directly to viewers in long-form, not soundbites.

The Compassion Debate was great. So was Mrs. Hillary Clinton. On the other hand, since I am still concerned about Obama's ties to Louis Farakhan and the Black Pathers through his current Church, the questioned was asked to Obama about church and state. What I heard was that "your religion should not be expressed in the Government Square". Do I assume that if Obama is President that the word "God" will be removed from all Government Public Places, taken off our coins and he will not swear the his oath on a Bible???? Please clarify before it is to late.
Sincerely;
John R. Kolb

Senator Clinton was awesome! How can anyone not see that she must be our next President!

I think that the idea of a "compasion forum" has no place in our politics. Religion and State should be seperate. We don't need another 8 years of a moral compass. We are all entitled to our religion of choice, we are electing a preident.
I want to hear more about the policies and ways these candidates are going to make change.
The idea of how the media controlls or guides how this election is being played out is very distrubing to me.

Sen. Hillary Clinton won the coin toss conducted by the organizers of Sunday night’s Compassion Forum. The New York senator elected to go first at the forum and will be followed by Sen. Barack Obama. Now I''m very surprised! Hillary complained about How she always went first always got the first question, during debates between her and obama yet she has the chance to have him speak first, but she goes first. Go Fiqure!

Faith is the belief in propositions for which there is no evidence. Science is a method for studying reality by examinating it. The reaction of the candidates to these two modes of thought is a sad commentary on this country and leaves rationalists like myself disenfranchised.
