TVG Goes Big At Toyota Blue Grass Stakes
Network Will Broadcast Live Coverage Of Kentucky Derby Prep To 130 Million Homes

TVG, the interactive horse racing channel, Thursday announced its coverage of Saturday’s Toyota Blue Grass Stakes from Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. will mark the most comprehensive live coverage of any racing event in the network’s nine-year history.
Along with the Grade I Toyota Blue Grass Stakes, widely considered a key prep race for next month’s Kentucky Derby, TVG will continue its start-to-finish coverage of the 2008 Spring Race Meet with coverage of more than 15 graded stakes races.
Saturday’s coverage will be broadcast to more than 130 million homes worldwide and feature a total of 24 TVG cameras—more than four times the usual number of cameras on-track—to capture every angle and reaction to the day’s racing card.
Adding to the experienced, several jockeys riding in the Blue Grass will wear TVG’s “All-Access” wireless microphones allowing viewers to hear the sounds of the race from their perspective. Real-time tracking technology with the Trakus system will enable viewers to easily identify and follow their horses throughout the race.
“TVG is proud to partner with Keeneland to provide horse racing fans around the world with wire-to-wire coverage of Keeneland’s annual Spring Race Meeting, including the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes, one of the premier races of the year,” Tony Allevato, TVG’s senior vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
Early Kentucky Derby favorite Pyro will compete in the Blue Grass along with other highly touted three-year-olds including Big Truck (pictured), winner of this year’s Tampa Bay Derby, and Cool Coal Man, who emerged victorious in the prestigious Fountain of Youth Stakes earlier this spring.
