SPEED, the motor sports network, Monday announced Alonzo Bodden, winner of Last Comic Standing 3, will host 101 Cars You Must Drive, a new series scheduled to premiere in June.
The network has ordered 10, 30-minute episodes, all in high definition.
Bodden, a former jet mechanic, “knows his way around cars,” the network said and the show will offer a “comedic look” at some of the world’s “most famous and not-so-famous” machines.
“It’s funny how big our cars and how slowly we drive them,” Bodden said in a statement. “Compares to Europe or Japan, we love our big cars. Compared to Germany and Italy and other countries, we have better roads with lower speed limits. That’s probably good because we’re putting on make-up while on the cell phone and that’s not good at 140 miles-per-hours.”
Network officials said exclusive 101 Cars You Must Drive short-form content will be made available all season through SPEEDtv.com, VOD cable, iTunes video podcasts, mobile phones, cable broadband sites and viral distribution.
