Was glad to see Edger showing some of the reality of being a fisherman, I did it for twenty years,I've longlined for blackcod, greycod and halibut in the north Pacific, longlined for greycod and red crabbed in the Bering sea. I've longlined the west coast, chased tuna from 49.N to 49.S and out to the date line, yes I've seen yesterday and crossed the equator. I've seen 250 lb. Big eyes mid water L/Ling around the Islands, fished 16 Dungeness seasons back before potlimits stacking them 8 high with a 9 locker. I Red crabbed on the Fierce Contender. Was deckboss on the Deep Pacific a Longline catcher processer, doing 40 to 60 day trips for three years, did a 82 day tuna trip on the S. Pacific. Now my back is shot the nerves to my legs being pinched by vertabra's with no disks between then. That is the life for alot of guy's who chose that life it ain't all glamour and full hold's, it uses up you body. And.. I don't regret a second of it, because I CAN say been there done that. So Edger at 39 is already used up, doesn't really want to run the boat; [besides that chair seems to fit Sig's ass pretty good] lot alot of job openings for brokedown old fishermen. That is the reality for so many of us has-beens.

Hi guys watching the tin foil greenhorn tuning in the radar, good one. One of my favorites on longline boats was to wait till we were jogging on the bag&flag in sh-tty weather and tell the greenhorn to gat up on the bow and watch for the mailbouy so we could all get our mail. Once the skipper woke up eary and came up to the wheel house, and saw the greenhorn on the bow asked us what the hell he was doing up there. We explained about the mailbouy, after he quit laughing he chewed us out cuz the guy could of got hurt. Well thought you guys might enjoy that one.
