Network Announces Deals With Stars And Their Celebrity Husbands

NEW YORK--TLC will strengthen its programming roster with a pair of celebrity hubby-wife teams.
Singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony will appear in a docuseries chronicling their personal lives and many business ventures.
Meanwhile, talk show host Kelly Ripa and actor husband Mark Consuelos have joined the TLC team to develop a number of scripted series, one of which will star the Regis and Kelly host.
The TLC announcements came at Discovery Communications’ upfront presentation to advertisers here Wednesday afternoon a Jazz at Lincoln Center.
In addition, Planet Green, Discovery’s eco-lifestyle-aimed service that is set to launch June 4 with more than 250 hours of original fare, announced that ABC News;s Bob Woodruff will anchor an eco-newscast, beginning in July.
The company also unveiled a sneak-peak video in which Oprah Winfrey discussed plans for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, which debuts in the second half of 2009.
Discovery, which held its first major upfront presentation in Los Angeles on April 8, discussed what it called its most ambitious programming slate to date.
