Pace Completes Philips Set-Top Acquisition
West Yorkshire, England — Pace Micro Technology completed its acquisition of Royal Philips Electronics’ set-top box division and connectivity solutions business.
Pace and Philips last month revised terms of the deal, reducing the value of the transaction to as much as $125 million compared with up to $135 million when the agreement was originally announced in December.
Pace said the lower offer came as the result of “changes in trading terms with certain key customers and a number of other matters.”

The agreement provides Digeo with a patent license to cover its current interactive program guides, as well as IPGs that Digeo plans to deploy with cable operators and for use on consumer electronics and PC platforms.
