Cartoon Network, Honda Team Up On ‘Adult Swim’ Contest

Fans Challenged To Design T-Shirts Featuring Favorite Cartoons

By Linda Haugsted -- Multichannel News, 5/12/2008 5:32:00 AM

Fans can demonstrate their allegiance to the ‘Adult Swim’ block on Cartoon Network by designing a t-shirt inspired by their favorite shows. The design challenge is part of a national contest and sweepstakes by the network and sponsor Honda Fit.

Beginning May 13, fans can make their shirt designs and upload their creations as a jpeg file at www.adultswim.com using the site's customer user-generated submission tool.  The winning shirts will be selected by viewer vote at the site.

As the sponsor, Honda Fit will be featured in the promotional campaign both on the linear network and online. For instance, some Adult Swim video at the site will feature a pre-roll advertising the car.

The seven-week contest will be promoted at Adult Swim's site, as well as www.Gametap.com and will feature links to the Honda Fit Web site.

At the end of the contest, 300 viewers will win a chance to get a limited edition run of the winning t-shirt.
Jenny Howell, manager of interactive marketing for Honda, said Adult Swim is a match to the “quirky personality” created for the Fit model.

“This creative contest perfectly suits our nonconformist Fit target....” she said in a prepared statement.
