Network Offers Private Screening To Kit Kittredge Film To Promote New Family Programming

A Turner Classic Movies fan will have a chance to win a private screening of the upcoming Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, part of a sweepstakes planned by the channel to showcase the launch of a new family-oriented movie block on TCM.
The prize is presented in partnership with the movie's producer, Picturehouse. Fans will be directed to a Web site to enter for the private screening grand prize. That includes admission for the winner and 50 guests with unlimited popcorn and soda. The winner will also receive a Kit Kittredge doll and accessories.
Twenty-five first-place winners will receive a TCM Essentials Jr. DVD pack, with five movies from the programming block. Movies in the block will include National Velvet, Harvey and Meet Me in St. Louis.
TCM Essentials Jr. will debut June 1, hosted by the stars of the American Girl movie, Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Chris O'Donnell (Scent of a Woman).
Molly Battin, senior vice president of brand development and digital platforms for TCM, TBS and TNT, said the Picturehouse partnership will help TCM reach a whole new generation of movie fans.
