Stonehenge Decoded’s premiere airings on National Geographic Channel attracted 6.3 million viewers, the best debut for a show on the network since Gospel of Judas in April 2006.
The two-hour program, presenting new scientific evidence that the landmark collection of standing stones in England was used as a burial site, averaged a household rating of 1.37 and 0.92 rating among persons ages 25 to 54 during the initial airing from 9-11 p.m. ET, up 96% in the household rating and 130% in the target demographic compared to the six-week average for the time slot, the network said.
Local cable households in New York, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta and Houston were up 155%, Nat Geo said.
Over two airings, Stonehenge Decoded reached 4.54 million households, 6,28 million viewers and 3.59 million persons 25 to 54 in total.
