ESPN2’s extensive coverage of the French Open tennis tournament was watched by an average of 397,000 homes a day, up 24% from 2007 total viewership rose from 364,000 impressions to 465,000, network officials said.
This year, ESPN2 devoted 51 hours of coverage to the professional tennis tour’s second major championship.
The 2008 data for the programming between May 25 and June 5 are based on a 0.4 rating, up 33% from the 0.3 mark it garnered last year.
Looking ahead, ESPN360.com will present the draw announcement for both the men’s and ladies’ brackets on Friday, June 20 at 5 a.m. ET. ESPN2 and ESPN360.com will provide extensive coverage of the full two weeks of the tournament beginning Monday, June 23.
