Comcast Spotlight Expands Use Of Harris' Ad Software

Plans Major Deployment Of Traffic and Billing System

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 7/2/2008 8:27:00 AM

Comcast Spotlight, the cable operator’s advertising sales division, has renewed its licensing agreement with Harris for a range of the vendor’s Novar family of traffic and billing solutions.

With the contract renewal, Comcast Spotlight will use Novar products in more than 50% percent of its footprint across five U.S. regions: the Southern Division (including Atlanta and Nashville); Western Division (including Denver and Albuquerque); Eastern Division (including Pittsburgh); Midwest Division (including Detroit, Chicago and Indianapolis); and the North-Central Division (including Boston).

Comcast Spotlight also will use new pieces of the Harris Novar portfolio, such as the Gatekeeper transaction management suite with modules for electronic invoicing, local contract import and post-buy analysis, and Remote Office suite for remote sales and accounting management.

“By streamlining and automating many aspects of the cable ad sales process, Novar enables our account executives to be more productive, accurate and efficient, while also providing better, faster customer service,” Comcast Spotlight senior vice president of strategic planning Steve Feingold said.
