Former TWC L.A. Chief Joins Hearst-Argyle

Roger Keating Named Head of TV Station Group’s Digital Media Unit

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 7/3/2008 5:41:00 AM

Roger Keating, previously head of Time Warner Cable’s Los Angeles division, has been named senior vice president of digital media for Hearst-Argyle Television.

Keating was hired as Time Warner Cable's National division chief in 2002 and then moved to the L.A. unit in April 2003, where he oversaw the integration of former Comcast and Adelphia Communications systems into Time Warner's new Los Angeles operation.

In March 2007, the MSO moved Barry Rosenblum, then head of its New York City division, to run the L.A. division as president and Keating left the company.

Before he joined Time Warner Cable, Keating worked at AOL and Comcast, where he most recently served as general manager of Comcast Online.

In announcing Keating’s hiring, Hearst-Argyle Television president and CEO David Barrett said, "Our digital media efforts are strategically focused on content development for the three core platforms of broadband, mobile and digital TV multicast. Bringing aboard an executive with Roger's experience and pedigree, to work with our talented digital media team, signals our ongoing commitment to leadership in serving audiences and advertisers in these areas.”

Keating’s appointment becomes effective July 7.

Hearst-Argyle’s local Web sites aggregate more than 20 million average monthly unique visitors, generate more than 175 million monthly page views and serve more than 6 million video streams.

The company owns 26 television stations and manages an additional three television and two radio stations owned by Hearst Corp.
