AT&T Fuels Football Fantasies On TV

U-verse TV Subscribers Can Track NFL Teams, Players and Stats

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 8/7/2008 6:16:00 AM

AT&T launched an interactive fantasy football application with Yahoo that lets U-verse TV customers receive updates on National Football League players and stats on their televisions.

U-verse TV customers can set up their fantasy league and team preferences through a Yahoo site. Their fantasy team selections are automatically updated on their TV screen through the AT&T U-bar interactive feature.

Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football is available to U-verse TV customers at no extra charge. For an additional $9.99, Yahoo offers StatTracker, a real-time application that delivers player, team and league statistics to U-verse TV, personal computers and mobile devices throughout the 2008-09 NFL season.

“The popularity of fantasy sports is on the rise, and our customers will be able to stay up-to-date on their leagues and teams from the comfort of their couch, all while watching the big games,” said G.W. Shaw, AT&T executive director of U-verse marketing.

AT&T has also rolled out NBC Olympics Interactive, an on-screen application for U-verse TV that offers headlines, live Olympic Games programming, a medal tracker and bios of U.S. athletes.
