WICT Lifts LEA Award Winners

Southern California Chapter Salutes, Kranick, Wade, Islas, Brown, Haley

The Southern California Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications has announced this year’s winners of the LEA Awards. 

The awards, which will be presented at a gala Oct. 30, 2008 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, honor four individuals and a board member for their achievements in the areas of leadership, education and advocacy, contributions to the telecommunications industry and support of WICT. A committee comprised of industry leaders selected the 2008 LEA Award winners:

*Lifetime Achievement -- Karen Kranick, vice president, customer operations, Cox Communications at Orange County/Palos Verdes;

*Woman of the Year -- Danielle Wade, vice president of customer care and marketing, Bright House Networks, Bakersfield;

*Woman To Watch -- Veronica Islas, marketing director, TuTv;

*Advocate Leader: Samantha Brown, senior director of affiliate relations, ¡Sorpresa!; and *WICT Board Member of the Year --Dwayna Haley, Ketchum, Inc.(formerly of Bob Gold & Associates).

“The LEA award continues to be the premiere accolade in the Southern California cable industry,” said Sherry Brennan, WICT Southern California Chapter president and Fox Cable Networks vice president of sales strategy and development, in a statement. “The 2008 LEA Awards are not only a celebration these exceptional winners, but a recognition of the entire cable and telecommunications industry for its spirit of embracing and inspiring women in the workplace.”
