Comcast Cable will offer Dallas-based HDNet on its high definition programming lineup as part of a carriage agreement announced Thursday.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The agreement enables Comcast to provide both HDNet and HDNet Movies in many of its systems, according to HDNet. Comcast currently carries the 10 million-subscriber HDNet service in its Minneapolis and Houston systems as part of its takeover of the former Time Warner systems.
“We’re thrilled to have a partnership that will provide Comcast’s customers with top-notch HD programming,” Mark Cuban (pictured), president and co-founder of HDNet, said in a statement. “This agreement between two leading HD providers will help shape the ever-expanding world of high definition programming.”
Comcast executive vice president of content acquisition Matt Bond added that partnering with HDNet “further complements our offering by bringing both compelling and high quality HD programming to our customers in this increasingly competitive marketplace.”
