Showtime’s initial Inside The NFL will feature a trio of guests.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Hall of Famer David ‘Deacon’ Jones and Dancing With The Stars’ Kym Johnson will be on hand for the premium network’s first turn with what had been an HBO staple for three decades.
Jones, who would have been the NFL’s all-time sack leader if the circuit had compiled that stat during his playing days as a defensive end, will square off with Inside The NFL on Showtime host and former All-Pro D-lineman Warren Sapp in a segment entitled, ‘Debate ‘08’ about their respective gridiron eras.
Dancing With The Stars vet Johnson, who is currently in rehearsal with Sapp for the ABC show’s upcoming season, will make the scene on the set of Inside The NFL.
In addition to Sapp, Inside The NFL on Showtime, from CBS Sports and NFL Films, will regularly feature host James Brown, as well as Phil Simms and Cris Collingsworth.
The series, which will run through Feb. 11, 2009, after Super Bowl XLIII, debuts Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).
