Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart enjoyed a 37% surge in total viewers during the two weeks it covered the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, averaging more than 1.7 million viewers each night.

Among viewers 18-49 that are either likely or unlikely to vote, the show posted a 42% improvement in total viewers from its Indecision 2004 coverage four years ago, garnering an average of 1.1 million viewers in this demographic, network officials said.

In its 11 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. ET timeslot, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was the second-most-watched show across all television among men 18-24 and men 18-34.

Broken down by each respective convention, the show averaged 1.5 million viewers for the DNC, up 23% from its 2004 coverage, and 1.8 million viewers during the RNC, up 32%.
