After an initial rollout in San Francisco and the Bay Area, AT&T is making whole-home digital video recorder features available to U-verse TV customers in Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Fresno, Calif.
The AT&T Total Home DVR feature lets subscribers play, pause, rewind and fast-forward up to three simultaneous HD DVR recordings to U-verse-connected TVs (and a maximum of four standard-definition streams). The feature can be accessed from up to seven additional U-verse-connected TVs. It was developed by Microsoft as part of the Mediaroom IPTV platform.
AT&T plans to roll out whole-home DVR to its entire U-verse TV footprint by the end of 2008.
