CBS College Sports Kicks Off On Time Warner Cable In Dallas

Network Added To Operator’s Sports Tier In North Texas

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 9/25/2008 9:59:00 AM

CBS College Sports Network has rolled out in Dallas via Time Warner Cable’s system.

The network will be available throughout the North Texas area on channel 195, part of the operator’s digital sports tier.

The primary rights-holder of Conference USA and Mountain West Conference, CBS College Sports' launch will give fans greater access to the SMU Mustangs in the Dallas area and TCU Horned Frogs in Ft. Worth.

In addition to last weekend’s TCU-SMU matchup, the Mustangs will play at least two more nationally televised games on Colleges Sports Network this season, including battles at UCF on Oct. 4 and at Navy on Oct. 25. The Horned Frogs are scheduled to appear three more times: at Colorado State on Oct. 11, at UNLV on Nov. 1 and at Utah on Nov. 6.

“Dallas is a top college sports market with passionate fans and competitive teams,” said Bob Rose, executive vice president, distribution, CBS College Sports Network, in a statement. “We, along with Time Warner, are excited to provide Dallas area fans with in-depth coverage across all college sports.”

Added Gary Underwood, vice president of communications for Time Warner Cable in North Texas: “CBS College Sports Network is a top destination for college sports fans, and we’re proud to add this compelling programming to our lineup. The addition of CBS College Sports Network to our lineup reinforces our commitment to college sports and college sports fans throughout North Texas. We’re particularly excited to be delivering more SMU and TCU football games this season.”
