Bravo Names Seminara CFO

Replaces Sabry Mohideen as Net’s Top Bean Counter

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 9/29/2008 11:07:00 AM

Bravo Media Monday named Karen Seminara its chief financial officer.

Seminara will be responsible for the network's financial oversight, including the development of Bravo's strategic and long-range plans. She will work closely with Zalaznick on identifying growth drivers and new revenue streams for the network, and will play a vital role in helping to define and build Bravo's new digital businesses.

She fills the vacancy left by former chief financial officer Sabry Mohideen, who left the company to pursue other interests.

Prior to joining Bravo Media, Seminara served as vice president of finance for WNBC in New York, where she oversaw all financial operations for WNBC and the NBC Universal-owned Spanish language station Telemundo WNJU 47, as well as developed strategic financial growth plans for broadcast, internet, digital, and out of home media platforms.

Seminara joined the NBCU family in 1997 and has held roles at MSNBC, CNBC, CNBC.com and corporate over the past 11 years. She first joined MSNBC as senior financial analyst of technical operations.

A year later, she was promoted to manager of  pricing for both CNBC and MSNBC. In 2000, she became director of pricing and ad dales finance for CNBC.com and CNBC. In 2001, she was promoted to director of financial planning and analysis for NBCU corporate.

Three years later, she became director of pricing and sales finance for the then-14-owned- and-operated NBC stations and 15 owned-and-operated Telemundo stations. She joined WNBC and WNJU as vice president of finance in 2006. She began her career in New York City in 1994 as a senior accountant for Deloitte & Touche.
