Television Games Network has renewed its sponsorship of the Breeder’s Cup World Championships, which come out of the gate on Oct. 24-25 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif with 14 thoroughbred races and $25.5 million in purses.

TVG, under the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, will be the title sponsor of the $1 million Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile on Oct. 25. The Dirt Mile, open to 3-year-olds and up, is scheduled to run on the main track.

In addition to the race sponsorship, TVG will once again produce the Breeders’ Cup simulcast show, a live broadcast of the two-day championships, which is distributed to more than 2,000 off track and simulcast wagering outlets worldwide, as well as the The Works, a week-long series covering morning workouts of the Breeders’ Cup contenders at racetracks across the country. TVG will also provide continuous coverage of late-breaking news taking place in the weeks leading up to the event.

TVG has been a Breeders’ Cup marketing partner since 1999. Before becoming the sponsor of the Dirt Mile, TVG sponsored the Breeders’ Cup Sprint from 2005-2007. Sentient Flight Group is the new sponsor of the Sprint.

“As the sponsor of this year’s Dirt Mile, we look forward to sharing this great race with fans around the globe,” said TVG president David Nathanson in a statement. “TVG is committed to horseracing, horseplayers and our continued support of the Breeders’ Cup.”
