FX Wants More ‘Anarchy’

Network Orders 13-Episode, Second Season Of Motorcycle Drama

FX will rev up a second season of Sons of Anarchy.

The network has ordered a 13-installments sophomore season of the motorcycle drama, starring Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman. The show’s first five episodes have cumed 5.4 million total viewers, including 3.5 million Madison Avenue-coveted adults 18 to 49. Based on that performance, Sons of Anarchy has been the network’s most successful rookie show since Rescue Me, according to FX officials.

“It’s incredibly gratifying to everyone at FX in at this time when The Shield -- the show that got our critically acclaimed original programming brand started -- is airing its final season, their loyal audience has embraced Sons of Anarchy and made it a success,” said John Landgraf, president and general manager of FX Networks, in a statement. “We’re also very proud of the day-in-day-out creative excellence the Sons of Anarchy writers and actors are bringing to the table.”
