Music Choice Wants Viewers To ‘Be On TV’

New ShowOff Application Enables Watchers To Affix Photos, Messages To Videos

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 10/8/2008 8:52:00 AM

Music Choice wants its viewers to show off.

The multiplatform video and music service is launching a new interactive programming application call ShowOff.

Music Choice's ShowOffViewers tuning in to Music Choice’s Hit List, Alternative, Today’s Country, Musica Urbana, and Hip-Hop and R&B music channels weekdays between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. can “Be on TV” by sending photo and text shout-outs via their mobile phone, e-mail, AOL Instant Messenger, and a designated ShowOff Web page. Instructions for sending in ShowOffs will be prominently featured on the channels during the blocks.

The five channels will continue to offer the best hit music during the ShowOff designated days and hours, but now they will also give watchers the opportunity to share their text messages and photos with other Music Choice viewers across the country.

“ShowOff is another example of our commitment to launching products that enhance the viewing experience on our music channels,” said Music Choice vice president of programming Damon Williams in a statement. “With the addition of interactivity, our viewers are highly engaged with our screen while listening to our Music Choice channels. Everyone has a chance to ‘Be On TV’ with ShowOff.”
