NAMIC is calling for nominations for its annual NAMIC Vision Awards—but this year it’s reaching beyond traditional cable network outlets.
The Awards, which in the past has recognized cable’s best multi-ethnic and cross-cultural original programming content, will now take content submissions from broadcast networks, local affiliates, video-on-demand services, digital platforms and cable local origination programs, according to NAMIC officials. Submissions will be accepted in 16 award categories for content airing between Oct. 1, 2007 and Sept. 30, 2008.
Winners of the 15th Annual NAMIC Vision Awards will be announced at an April 17 luncheon ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, to be held in conjunction with the NAMIC–Southern California West Coast Creative Summit.
“As the content arena grows exponentially, NAMIC will continue to support and encourage those entities that remain committed to producing multi-ethnic, original programming,” said NAMIC president Kathy Johnson. “By expanding the Vision Awards competition, our goal is to honor the growing number of creators fostering diversity across video platforms."
