DirecTV has launched History en Espanol.
The network, combining programming from the U.S. and Latin America highlighting Hispanic culture, is now available on DirecTV Mas, the satellite service’s Spanish- and English-language programming package. Deal terms were not disclosed.
With the rollout, network officials say the History en Espanol is now available to all major U.S. distributors.
“As the only cross-cultural network exclusively offering history to Latino audiences, History en españolbrings a unique perspective to Spanish-language programming and to the overall television landscape. The network has rapidly become a ‘must have’ for U.S. Hispanic audiences,” said Mark Garner, vice president of distribution and business Development at A&E Television Networks, in a statement. “We are pleased to extend our partnership with DirecTV, one of the nation’s premier satellite providers and a leader in offering quality Hispanic programming to customers.”
Added John de Armas, vice president, WorldDirect, DirecTV: “History en español offers intelligent, thought-provoking entertainment. DirecTV Más is proud to partner with History en español to continue to deliver quality educational content to Hispanics nationwide.”
