BET Continues Coverage Of Obama Win

Will Devote More Primetime Scheduling to More Election Coverage

By R. Thomas Umstead -- Multichannel News, 11/5/2008 11:51:00 AM

For the second night in a row, Black Entertainment Television will again devote its primetime schedule Wednesday to content surrounding the President-elect Barack Obama’s victory in Tuesday’s election.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the African-American targeted network will devote its live 106 & Park music series to post-election coverage—part of the network’s 24-hour coverage of Barack Obama’s presidential election win, according to network executives. BET offered live, primetime Election Night coverage on Tuesday.

At 8 p.m., the network will re-air its one-hour special, The First Black President, a look at President-elect Obama’s road to the White House.

The network will replay Obama’s election night speech, as well as his speech this past summer on U.S. race relations, before repeating The First Black President at 11 p.m.
