CTAM Live: WWE Renames SVOD Service

New WWE Classics On Demand Moniker Trumpeted On Various Properties

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, November 10, 2008

BOSTON--The WWE has rebranded its subscription video on demand service.

Built from more than 100,000 hours of the best pro grappling fare, WWE Classics On Demand supplants WWE 24/7 On Demand.

The Stamford, Conn.-headquartered WWE will deploy its various resources to promulgate the name change. The new look and logo created for the service will be heralded on WWE television shows, WWE.com, WWE Magazine and promotional inserts in WWE Shop orders and select WWE DVD titles. Moreover, WWE will also disseminate email blasts and promote the name via a toll-free number that will connect fans directly to the call center of their local cable operators.

“Our new name, WWE Classics On Demand, better reflects the content of our service, chronicling the rich heritage of the sports entertainment industry,” said Peter Clifford, WWE senior vice president, distribution and affiliate marketing, in a statement.
