CTAM Live: Summit Attendance Surpasses 2,200

Boston Event Tallies 2214 Attendees As Summit Winds Down

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, November 11, 2008

BOSTON--As CTAM Summit ’08 winds down, the cable industry’s marketing group reported solid attendance from Boston.

CTAM officials tallied attendance for the three-day event at the Hynes Convention Center at 2,214. The group had projected the turnout for the Nov. 9-11 confab to fall somewhere in the 2,200-2,400 range.

“Although companies have been cutting back on expenses during this economic downtown, we've had a terrific turnout for the Summit,” said a CTAM spokeswoman. “The current attendance number is 2,214, and included CTAM's leadership, MSO decision-makers, top-tier marketers and key suppliers.”

The final number, including walk-up registrants, was still in flux on Tuesday morning in The Hub, as the Summit neared its conclusion with final breakout sessions and a lunch and final general session. Sponsored by Disney and ESPN Media Networks, the finale featured Canoe Ventures CEO David Verklin, Cablevision COO Tom Rutledge, Discovery Communications president and CEO David Zaslav, Real Networks chief Rob Glaser and Merrill Lynch 1st vice president and managing director Jessica Reif Cohen.
