By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 11/20/2008 9:07:00 AM

FX Thursday promoted Lance Reiss to vice president of marketing.

Reiss, who previously served as director of marketing and advertising where he worked on marketing campaigns for network shows including Damages, The Shield and Nip/Tuck, will be responsible for media planning, vendor negotiations, online content distribution and day-to-day oversight of the marketing budget.

He will also handle the day-to-day relationship with FX’s media buying agency, Mediastorm.

“Lance is such a trusted and talented colleague,” Sally Daws, FX’s senior vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “He is a tremendous asset to our marketing team and continues to find new and innovative ways to reach viewers. We’re thrilled with his well-deserved promotion.”

Prior to joining FX, Reiss worked as a marketing manager for DirecTV where he oversaw national acquisition marketing programs with Best Buy, Circuit City, Blockbuster, and Radio Shack and leading networks MTV, Disney, ESPN and Fox Cable Networks.
