Tiger 'Tees It Up' On Golf Channel

Three-Part Show Features Woods, Kim Conducting Clinic For Amateurs

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 11/21/2008 6:23:00 AM

Tiger’s back and he’s on Golf Channel.

The world’s best golfer, currently recovering from knee surgery after a dramatic playoff win at the 2008 U.S. Open, will be showcased, along with rising player Anthony Kim, during the network’s three part series, Tee it up with Tiger, which will air from Nov. 26-28 at 10 p.m. (ET). The program features Woods and Kim conducting a clinic for 24 amateurs, who were selected through a promotion with Nike Golf, which Woods plays for, at Trump National Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.

In the first show, Woods talks about his father teaching him to play and how those lessons and his family shape his game today, while the finale focuses on specific golf skills and the varied approaches Woods and Kim have to golf. Highlights include Kim’s explaining why he grips down on his golf club, the importance of proper club fitting and the first time that Woods beat his dad in golf and how that event led to the famed Woods’ fist pump.

The second show follows Woods watching the amateurs playing the 10th hole at Trump National, with stories about how the players perform before the eye of the Tiger, so to speak.
