'True Blood,' 'Entourage' Finales On HBO's Sunday Night Lineup

Viewership Grows For Vampire Series

With viewer momentum building, HBO will unearth the rookie season finale of vampire series True Blood tonight at 9 p.m.

The show, based on Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels with Anna Paquin in that role, started off slowly for the premium network, drawing just 1.4 million viewers to its Sept. 7 premiere.Since then, more viewers have been drawn in, with recent premiere installments surpassing the 2 million mark and cume showings exceeding 6 million watchers weekly.

True Blood, which also stars as Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton, the fanged figure of Sookie’s affection, will serve as a lead-in to the fifth season finale of Hollywood buddy series Entourage at 10 p.m. During the concluder, Vince (Adrien Grenier) and crew have returned home to Queens, after comeback vehicle Smokejumpers was scrapped by the studio in the campaign’s penultimate installment.

True Blood’s sophomore season in already in production, while HBO has ordered a sixth Entourage engagement.
