Food Network On AT&T Mobile TV Menu For Holidays

Temporary Mobile TV Slot To Include Programming From Scripps Networks Properties

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 11/26/2008 4:29:00 AM

AT&T will offer a separately programmed Food Network channel on its mobile TV service through Feb. 3, 2009, that will include programming from several Scripps Networks properties.

The temporary 24-hour linear channel -- Scripps' first mobile TV offering -- is being provided through Qualcomm’s MediaFLO USA mobile TV network subsidiary.

On the MediaFLO network, the channel will feature home and cooking programming from Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living Network, as well as HGTV shows such as Myles of Style and Design on a Dime.

"FLO TV provides another outlet for Scripps Networks' fans looking for the great entertainment and information our brands provide," Scripps senior vice president of online partnerships and distribution Lisa Choi Owens said, in a statement.

MediaFLO’s mobile multichannel services are available through AT&T and Verizon Wireless, starting at $15 per month. However, the Food Network channel will be available only on AT&T. The service offers more than a dozen simulcast and mobile-programmed linear channels, including CBS Mobile, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, Fox News, NBC 2Go, CNBC, MSNBC, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
