Cable News Nets Pocket Four Emmys

Bloomberg, CNBC and CNN Take Awards

Bloomberg TV, CNBC and CNN took home four honors for cable networks in the sixth annual Emmy Awards for business and financial reporting presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in New York Dec. 2.

In total, ABC, Bloomberg, CBS and PBS tied with two wins each, followed by CNBC and Minyanville.com with one each. PBS and CNN also won Emmys for promotional efforts for their news programming.

Bloomberg TV was honored with statuettes for outstanding investigative reporting of a business news story—news magazines or long form, for a piece entitled 401(K) Hidden Fees. It also took the award for outstanding documentary on a business topic, for Deadly Brew: The Human Toll of Ethanol. 

CNBC's award was for outstanding coverage of a current business news story—news magazines and long form, for an episode of Business Nation called Field of Dreams.

CNN took home the award in the category outstanding promotional announcement—episodic for God's Warriors on CNN Presents.

During the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award in Business & Financial Reporting was presented to David Schlesinger, editor-in-chief of Reuters, the international news agency and business news source.
