Bloomberg TV Scoops Up Pair of Emmys

Cable Business News Network's Investigative Reports Honored

By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 12/2/2008 9:21:00 AM

Bloomberg TV won two Emmy Awards Tuesday for a pair of investigative reports during the Sixth Annual Emmy Awards for Business and Financial Reporting in New York City.

“401K Hidden Fees,” a half-hour special exposing hidden charges that can skim off more than half of investment returns over a lifetime of retirement plan saving, garnered an Emmy in the outstanding investigative reporting of a business news story category. It was hosted by anchor Mike Schneider and produced by Gary Matsumoto.

Another Bloomberg TV special, titled “Deadly Brew: The Human Toll of Ethanol,” was also honored with an Emmy for outstanding documentary on a business topic. Also hosted by Schneider and produced by Randy Martin, the half-hour special investigated abuses endured by Brazil’s migrant workers who harvest sugar cane for ethanol production.

Bloomberg Television broadcasts in seven languages to more than 200 million homes via 11 channels.
