Cablevision Forms Strategic Product Development Group

Unit to Focus On 'Long-Range' Products And Service Enhancements

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 12/10/2008 8:31:00 AM

Cablevision Systems established a group that will focus on long-range products and enhancements to its video, voice and high-speed Internet services, the company announced Wednesday.

The New York-area MSO said the unit will be co-managed by Wilt Hildenbrand, who currently serves as senior advisor of engineering and technology, and Kristin Dolan (left), formerly senior vice president of digital product management.

Hildenbrand, a 32-year Cablevision veteran, is recognized as one of the cable industry’s leading technologists. He previously oversaw the company's engineering and technology department as an executive vice president.

Dolan, who's been with the company 20 years, was involved in the development of iO TV user interface and the digital cable service’s launch in late 2001. Most recently, she has held strategic consulting roles at Madison Square Garden and related businesses. She is the wife of Cablevision CEO James Dolan.

Joining the group are Patrick Donoghue, who will serve as senior vice president of strategic product development, and Jonathan Greenfield, senior vice president of strategic product advancement.

Donoghue (left) had been Cablevision’s vice president of digital TV and broadband development from 2001 to 2006, playing a leadership role in the development of the iO TV digital cable product with a specific emphasis on interactive television, navigation and the user experience. He rejoined Cablevision in May after a stint as Time Warner Cable’s vice president of ITV product management.

Greenfield had served as vice president of the customer-service operations center since 2006. From 2000 to 2006 he was vice president of technology development. He also has conducted research in distributed computing at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and managed software development teams at IBM.

Cablevision said the new unit will coordinate with its existing corporate engineering and technology department, as well as the operating businesses and product groups across the company.
