Zodiac Releases Interactive Set-Top Software

Ensequence's Authoring Software Supports Code

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 12/15/2008 6:10:00 AM MT

Interactive television software developer Zodiac Interactive has released an Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format player for Cisco Systems’ PowerTV platforms, and announced plans to deliver a player for tru2way platforms early next year.

Zodiac said it worked with Ensequence to ensure that the player complies with the CableLabs EBIF standard and that Ensequence's Create authoring software supports the EBIF player for Cisco Systems’ PowerTV set-top box platform.

Zodiac's EBIF player for PowerTV is available today; the company plans to make a player that runs on tru2way-enabled set-top boxes available in the first quarter of 2009.

Comcast and Time Warner Cable recently announced plans to support EBIF standards on more than 10 million set-top boxes.
