‘Sons of Anarchy’ Delivers in Freshman Finale
FX Series Averages More than 5.8 Million Viewers A Week

FX Thursday said the first-season finale of Sons of Anarchy drew more than 3 million total viewers, propelling the series to the highest ratings for any new series on the network since Rescue Me debuted in 2004.
Including Live+7 DRV ratings, the series averaged more than 5.8 million total viewers for the season and 3.9 million adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. On a first-run basis, Sons of Anarchy averaged 2.6 million total viewers and 1.75 million adults in the 18-49 demographic.
FX has picked up a second season of Sons of Anarchy, slated to begin in Spring 2009. The series stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman and was created by Kurt Sutter who also serves as executive producer. John Linson and Art Linson are executive producers. The series is produced by FX Productions and Fox21.
Also, FX’s showcase series, The Shield, ended its seven-season run by averaging 3.51 million total viewers and 2.27 million Adults 18-49 on a multi-run basis.
