'Baseball' Doc To Bat On MLB Network

Burns's Emmy-Winning Documentary Bows Jan. 6

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 12/31/2008 1:40:00 AM

Appropriately, MLB Network will air Ken Burn’s Emmy Award-winning documentary Baseball as it comes out of the gate.

MLB Network, which will launch in a record 50 million homes on Jan. 1 at 6 p.m. with Hot Stove Report, followed by a first mass showing of the New York Yankee Don Larsen’s perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1956 World Series, will present the first inning of the nine-part Baseball on Jan 6 at 8 p.m.

The remainder of the documentary will air Tuesdays in that time slot throughout January and February.
