ESPN Classic will re-air a memorable game from its library each Monday night, beginning Jan. 5 through the start of the regular season, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its Major League Baseball coverage.
The first pitch will be tossed Monday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. with a rebroadcast of the April 9, 1990 game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals—ESPN’s first-ever MLB telecast.
In addition to the retrospective telecasts, ESPN Classic will also televise a MLB game of the week throughout the regular season.
The weekly schedule includes several memorable playoff and World Series games gone by, including Game 7 of the 1991 World Series between the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves, Game 7 of the 1997 World Series featuring the Cleveland Indians and Florida Marlins and Game 7 of the NLCS between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves.
