AT&T Launches U-verse In El Paso Area
Telco TV and Internet Services Will Vie With Time Warner Cable's

AT&T is offering U-verse TV and Internet services in parts of the El Paso, Texas, area, where the telco will go head-to-head with Time Warner Cable.
In competing against TWC, the phone company is expected to push features like whole-home DVR and an HD lineup of 85 channels. In El Paso, Time Warner Cable offers 18 HD services, according to its Web site.
AT&T has rolled out U-verse TV to more than 80 markets in 16 states, and last month hit its goal of signing up 1 million IPTV subscribers by the end of 2008.
